Bethany Walters, ATC

Bethany graduated with her BS in 2017 from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

She started working through OFC in the summer of 2017, to do outreach at St Clair high school, and has been with St Clair since 2017.

In 2018, she started a two-year master’s program in Wellness Coaching and Disease Prevention at Minnesota State University, Mankato

She was hired on as the Teaching Assistant for the Athletic Training Education Program, as well as an intermittent Athletic Trainer, both at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Randy Palmer, M.Ed, LAT, ATC, ITAT

Randy has been an athletic trainer for the OFC since 2005. A native of Owatonna MN, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Physical Education and Athletic Training from Mankato State University in 1979. He later earned his Master’s degree from the University of Houston in 1987.

Randy joined the National Athletic Trainers Association in 1974 and became a Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer in 1979. He is currently a licensed athletic trainer with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.

Randy began his career in 1979, serving eight years as the athletic trainer at Memorial High School in Houston, TX. He then served three years in the same capacity at Taylor High School in Katy, TX. Since returning to Mankato in 1990, he has served as the athletic trainer working with South St. Paul, New Ulm, Mankato East, Mankato West, Maple River, St. Clair, Le Center, Cleveland, Janesville Waldorf Pemberton and Waterville Elysian Morristown High Schools.  He has been the primary athletic trainer for Mankato West High School since 2005.

Randy’s experience also includes being a preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program at Minnesota State University-Mankato. He also served as the athletic trainer for the Mankato MoonDogs baseball team for four seasons. In addition, he is a member of the National (NATA), Great Lakes (GLATA), and Minnesota (MATA) Athletic Trainers Association. He currently serves on the MATA Secondary Schools Committee.

Randy and Rachel Palmer reside in North Mankato and have two adult children, Kyle and Allison, both of whom are graduates of Mankato West High School.  

Amy Bond, MA, LAT, ATC, ITAT

Amy has worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer with OFC since the fall of 2003. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from MSU, Mankato in 2003 and her Master of Arts degree in clinical exercise physiology from MSU, Mankato in 2009. She recently completed the training for the ImPACT Trained Athletic Training Program. She was the Certified Athletic Trainer at Mankato Loyola High School for 9 years and is now working at Maple River High School. She was a fill-in staff at Shattuck St. Mary’s in Faribault where she traveled with the girls hockey teams and boys soccer teams to national competitions. Amy is a Registered Athletic Trainer with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Amy is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association and the Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association where she is on the Secondary School Committee. Amy is also a Preceptor for athletic training students at MSU, Mankato.
