Patient Safety Message
The Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic takes the safety and well-being of its patients, visitors and staff seriously. We are consulting with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and local response teams for guidance specific to COVID-19.
We want to reassure you that we have taken the recommended precautions to make it safe to come to The Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic for your upcoming appointments and care. The below processes have been put in place for the safety of patients, visitors and staff.
Masking: Due to COVID-19, OFC is requiring all patients/visitors to wear a face mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. Any mask that incorporates a valve that is designed to facilitate easy exhaling, mesh masks, or masks with openings, holes, visible gaps in the design or material, or vents are not sufficient face coverings/masks because they allow droplets to be released from the mask. Patients/visitors with these types of masks will be required to use a mask provided by OFC.
Screening: When you arrive for your appointment, our staff are greeting patients/visitors at the door and screening for COVID-19 symptoms prior to appointments. All OFC staff members are going through a similar screening process on a daily basis.
Visitors: OFC is allowing one visitor to accompany patients into the building.
Appointments: OFC is asking patients experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, sore throat, headache, gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), new loss of taste or smell, muscle body aches or runny nose/congestion) or have been in close contact with anyone with COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms to please call and reschedule your appointment(s).
Telehealth: OFC has implemented Telehealth (video appointment) as a way for you to be seen by your provider without coming to the office. Telehealth allows you to be evaluated through real-time audio/video communication with your care provider from the comfort of your home. All you need is a tablet, smartphone (Apple or Android) or any other internet-connected computer or device with the camera and microphone enabled. We offer Telehealth visits for a wide variety of orthopedic needs. Your provider will help determine if Telehealth is appropriate for you.
